The RamBox® Cargo Management System is built into both sides of the truck bed. On properly equipped trucks, they also tie into the truck's power door locks, which means everything locks and unlocks together. What Can You Store in It?
The RamBox® isn't meant for oversized cargo. That's still what the bed is for. Where it really shines is storing the things that usually end up rolling around in the back of the truck. Ratchet straps, jumper cables, recovery gear, tie-downs, gloves, hand tools, trailer accessories, fishing gear, and emergency supplies all fit neatly into their own space instead of getting buried under everything else. Depending on the trim, the driver's side compartment can also include a 115-volt power outlet for charging tools or electronics while you're on the job or at the campsite. Ram also offers available Mopar® dividers and storage inserts if you want to organize the compartments even further.
How Much Storage Does It Add?
Storage depends on which bed you choose. Ram 1500 models with the 5-foot 7-inch bed offer 7.3 cu. ft. of enclosed RamBox® storage. Trucks equipped with the 6-foot 4-inch bed increase that to 8.6 cu. ft. The system doesn't reduce the length of the bed because everything is built into the bedsides. It does take away a little bed width, which is worth keeping in mind if you regularly haul wide building materials or pallets.
Is the RamBox® Worth It?
